STRAIGHT LINES, 2016 Artist's statement
This work was made at a gallery and disused deli 'Geddes Gallery' in London's Kings Cross area.
I watched the weather, positioned myself in the space and waited for the scarce winter sun to come through the small domestic windows. I used mirrors and coloured gels to redirect the trajectory, sending the direct light darting across the walls of the domestic space.
Printed and manipulated in the darkroom I salute the deli’s past, its pretty packaging and orderly displays. Shot with (and shots of) the same light that shines on all other things.
